The Law Ministry has notified the appointment of nine judges to five High Courts (HCs).
The fresh appointments are part of the several names recommended by the Supreme Court collegium last month. Between August 8 and September 1, the collegium had processed over 100 names recommended by various HCs and had sent 68 names to the government for appointment as judges to 12 High Courts.
Additional names were sent to the government subsequently.
