509 athletes participate in AU’s All India Inter-University Best Physique Championship

Over 509 athletes from 115 universities competed in AU's All India Inter-University Best Physique Championship, celebrating the university's centenary.
About 509 athletes from 115 universities across the country participated in the All India Inter-University Best Physique Championship, organised as part of the centenary celebrations at Andhra University, on Tuesday.
Arjuna Awardee Neelamsetti Lakshmi attended the inaugural event as the chief guest and inaugurated the championship.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Lakshmi expressed happiness that Andhra University is hosting such a prestigious national-level sporting event. She encouraged the participants in the physique competition to showcase their full potential.
Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.P. Rajasekhar said that as part of the centenary celebrations, the university has been organising various sports and cultural programmes. He highlighted that along with physical fitness, mental strength is equally important.
AU Director of Physical Education Mr. Vijayamohan said that apart from the participants, 155 team managers and coaches from various universities attended the event.
During the programme, Arjuna Awardee Neelamsetti Lakshmi was felicitated.
