At least 36 people died and nearly 200 were injured on Friday after a midnight fire swept through a ferry on the Sugandha river in Bangladesh's Jhalakathi district, nearly 250 km from the capital Dhaka.
The police and fire service personnel said the fire broke out when the Barguna-bound vessel “MV Avizan” reached the Dapdapia area around 3 am on Friday.
