Woman jumps into well with 2 children over family dispute, children die

A woman in Jharkhand’s Giridih district jumped into a well with her two children over a family dispute. The woman suffered minor injuries, but both her children died in the incident.
A 25-year-old woman, Mamta Devi, along with her two children jumped into the irrigation well in the Deori village of Jharkhand’s Giridih district. The woman suffered minor injuries, but both her children died in the incident.
According to the information, the woman jumped into the well after a family dispute.
The incident took place when Mamta Devi came out of the house at around 1 am with the intention of committing suicide. She took her son Chiku, 2, and daughter Suhani, 5, with herself and jumped into the well.

As soon as the information came out, the people of the village gathered at the spot and pulled the woman and her children out of the well. They were taken to a community health center where both the children were declared dead by the doctor.
The police have registered the case. “The bodies of children have been sent for post-mortem and further investigation is underway,” said Police station in-charge Santosh Kumar Mandal.
