Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Friday described Brics as one of the most significant multilateral initiatives of the past three decades, positioning it as a platform that gives the Global South a greater voice in world affairs.
In an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Lula said Brics offers a fresh geopolitical framework distinct from older groupings such as the G7 and the G20.
"The Brics was one of the most important things that we created in the last three decades. The G7 largely represents the world's richest economies, while the G20 emerged during the 2008 global financial crisis.
