Will remove corruption from grassroots if AAP wins Gujarat civic polls: Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal said the Aam Aadmi Party will launch a grassroots-level fight against corruption if it wins the upcoming Gujarat local body polls.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will begin the fight to eradicate corruption from the very grassroots level if voted to power in the Gujarat local body polls, AAP's national convener and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday.
Kejriwal alleged that the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress are in collusion in Gujarat and are together looting the state. He said that until now, people lacked an alternative, but that option has now emerged in the form of AAP.
“Until now, people here lacked an alternative, but now, that alternative has arrived in the form of AAP. You finally have a choice. This time, you must all wield the broom (AAP symbol) to sweep away the old order,” he said.
Dates for the local body polls have not been announced yet.
Highlighting his party’s governance model, Kejriwal said that in Punjab, the AAP government provides Rs 1,000 every month to every woman, offers insurance coverage worth Rs 10 lakh for every family, and has made electricity free for households. He asserted that these initiatives can also be implemented in Gujarat.
“We must oust the BJP and bring people’s power,” he said.
