Christopher Tilak vows to address Tamil Nadu and Tiruchi issues in Rajya Sabha, criticizing Modi's political visits.
Congress nominee for the Rajya Sabha Christopher Manickam alias M. Christopher Tilak on Saturday said he would raise issues concerning Tamil Nadu and Tiruchi in the Rajya Sabha after he was elected. Addressing reporters in Tiruchi, he said coming from an ordinary family and starting his political journey as a grassroots worker, it was a matter of pride that he was nominated for the Rajya Sabha.
Taking a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said his visits to Tamil Nadu were often reduced to “political spectacles”, and added that the people should observe the intention behind these visits. Earlier, Mr. Christopher was accorded a warm reception at the Tiruchi Airport by Congress functionaries led by Tiruchi City District Congress Committee president L. Rex.
