West Bengal Govt appoints Prof Soma Bandyopadhyay as new VC of DHWU

West Bengal Government has appointed Prof Soma Bandyopadhyay as a new Vice-Chancellor of Diamond Harbour Women's University (DHWU) ignoring the choice of Governor.

The West Bengal government has appointed Prof Soma Bandyopadhyay as a new Vice-Chancellor for Diamond Harbour Women's University (DHWU). This came as a repercussion of unwillingness towards Chancellor and state Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar appointment.

Earlier, Prof Anuradha Mukhopadhyay was serving as the VC of DHWU. While Prof Soma Bandyopadhyay was the acting VC of Sanskrit College and University and full-time VC of West Bengal University of Teachers' Training, Education Planning and Administration (WBUTTEPA).
