Mahindra Thar facelift to get Roxx-like design and feature boost
India Today
Fresh spy shots suggest the Mahindra Thar 3-door is set for another update, with design cues inspired by the Mahindra Thar Roxx and a more premium positioning in sight.
A new test mule of the upcoming Mahindra Thar 3-door facelift has been spotted undergoing road tests, hinting at a more premium design direction. While the SUV was last updated in October 2025 with minor tweaks, the latest sightings suggest a more comprehensive visual overhaul influenced by the Mahindra Thar Roxx.
Spy images reveal noticeable changes at the front, where the facelifted model adopts styling elements similar to the Roxx. These include circular LED headlamps positioned flush with the grille, along with distinctive C-shaped daytime running lights. The grille itself appears reworked, now featuring a split design, while the bumper and turn indicators also seem to have been revised.
In contrast, the current model uses halogen headlamps with separate LED DRLs, making the updated lighting setup a significant step forward in terms of modernity and visual appeal.
From the side, the overall silhouette remains familiar, but new alloy wheels are expected. The test mule hints at a design similar to the Roxx, possibly larger in size than the current 16-inch and 18-inch options offered on existing variants. At the rear, updated LED tail-lamps with fresh detailing can be seen, again drawing clear inspiration from the Roxx. While the shape remains vertically oriented, the internal elements appear more dynamic and contemporary.
Although the previous update in 2025 introduced several new features, the upcoming facelift is expected to push things further. Other expected enhancements include ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, wireless charging and auto-folding ORVMs.
