
Watch: Tamil Nadu parties to move Supreme Court against EC’s SIR

A multi-party meeting led by CM M.K. Stalin decided to approach the Supreme Court against the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls in Tamil Nadu. The resolution called the exercise anti-democratic, alleging it violated legal procedures and aimed to delete genuine voters. Parties urged the EC to halt the revision until the Supreme Court’s verdict and demanded a fair, transparent process after the 2026 Assembly elections.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
