The metal nose of Vande Bharat Express running between Mumbai Central to Gandhinagar was repaired hours after it was damaged. The cone of the train suffered damage after it collided with the cattle.
Hours after the metal nose of Vande Bharat was damaged, the surgical team fixed the cone of the high-speed train and is back in service. The newly-launched Mumbai-Gandhinagar Vande Bharat train suffered minor damage after colliding with cattle on Thursday.
The cone of Vande Bharat Express running between Mumbai Central to Gandhinagar has been repaired at the coaching care centre in Mumbai Central, ANI reported.
The train collided with a herd of cattle at around 11:18 in the morning between Vatva and Maninagar stations in Gujarat and the train had to be briefly halted for 20 minutes. However, no functional part got damaged.
"Nose Cone Cover of the front coach was replaced with a new one in Mumbai Central depot during the maintenance and the train is put back into service without any extra downtime. We are taking all actions to prevent such types of incidents in future," Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer told news agency ANI.
The newly-introduced Mumbai-Gandhinagar Vande Bharat Superfast Express train started its commercial run on October 1, a day after it was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Gujarat's capital, Gandhinagar.
