The Bar Council of India has said that all universities are free to decide the mode of conduction of the LLB exams amid the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
Even as the debate on if and how exams by various institutions will be conducted, the Bar Council of India has said that end-term exams are mandatory and must be conducted by all institutions and universities for awarding an LLB degree and promotion to next year. "It was unanimously agreed that an end-term examination is mandatory to be conducted by all Law Schools/Universities," says the press release issued by the BCI. The council has, however, left it to the universities to decide on the mode of examination. "After detailed discussion and deliberations, the Committee unanimously agreed that each University/Centers of Legal Education shall conduct examination for intermediate and final year students, as per their own dispensation, depending upon the availability of resources and the impact of Covid-19 in that region," says the press release.
