Uber will now let users know how many stars they have received from drivers

Uber announced on Wednesday that the riders will now be able to see how many five-star ratings or one-star ratings they have received from their drivers.
If you have always wondered how much your Uber driver has rated you for a trip, Uber’s new update will let you see the ratings now. Uber announced on Wednesday that the riders will now be able to see how many five-star ratings or one-star ratings they have received from their drivers. Not that the ratings make much of a difference to users, it would give them an idea about how they should behave with the riders. An extremely poor rating may have consequences. However, Uber doesn’t mention how it deals with riders with poor ratings. It could certainly lower your chances of getting accepted by drivers.
The Uber riders will now be able to access the breakdown of their average ratings in Uber’s new privacy centre. The new updates will be rolled out to customers globally starting from Wednesday.
"You'll see how many drivers gave you a stellar 5-star rating, how many handed out the dreaded single star, and everything in between," said Zach Singleton, Privacy Product Manager at Uber. Uber also noted that users can also access their payment details, control marketing preferences and more in the Privacy Centre.
To access the privacy centre on Uber app, users are required to tap privacy and then Privacy Center in Setting app. Users can then swipe to the right and click on the "would you like to see a summary of how you use Uber" tile and then scroll down to the "browse your data" section and tap on "View my ratings" to see the breakdown.
Apart from the ratings from drivers, Uber riders will also get to see the reason why they were rated low or high. "Drivers shouldn't have to clean up after you. Always make sure to take your trash and any other belongings with you. Don't leave a mess behind. Remember that drivers' time is valuable and they shouldn't have to wait for you. A smooth pickup is better for everyone, so be ready to go when the driver arrives,” the company said in a statement.
Uber also urged customers to treat their drivers the way they would want to be treated. Uber has been working on new ways for riders and drivers to give feedback to each other for years.
Back in 2017, Uber introduced a new feature that gave the power to the drivers to offer feedback to riders regarding their behaviour.
