Just like Clubhouse, Spaces lets users host audio sessions, but there is no separate app for Spaces, the feature is present within the Twitter app.
Twitter is rolling out Spaces to users with around 600 followers on the micro-blogging site. The company had introduced a Clubhouse-like audio chat room called Spaces last year. However, Twitter had not immediately rolled out the feature to all its users, it had only started testing Spaces with a limited group of people. Just like Clubhouse, Spaces lets users host audio sessions, but there is no separate app for Spaces, the feature is present within the Twitter app. Twitter announced in a blog post that it will let users with 600 or more followers host a Space. “Today, we’re bringing the ability to host a Space to all accounts with 600 or more followers on Twitter. Based on what we’ve learned so far, these accounts are likely to have a good experience hosting live conversations because of their existing audience. Before bringing the ability to create a Space to everyone, we’re focused on learning more, making it easier to discover Spaces, and helping people enjoy them with a great audience.” The new feature, which is also a voice chatting feature, lets users create live rooms with up to 10 speakers. However, there is no cap on the number of listeners, as unlimited people can join a room to listen to a session or a conversation.
