Donald Trump launched TrumpRx, a government-backed website directing Americans to discounted prescription drugs, as his administration highlights efforts to lower health care costs amid voter concern over rising living expenses.
US President Donald Trump on Thursday launched TrumpRx, a government-hosted website the administration says will help Americans find discounted prescription drugs by directing them to manufacturers’ direct-to-consumer sales and pharmacy coupons.
“You’re going to save a fortune,” Trump said at the site’s unveiling on the White House campus. “And this is also so good for overall health care.”
Despite its name, TrumpRx does not sell medications directly. Instead, the site acts as a clearinghouse, steering users to drugmakers’ own websites where they can purchase medicines, while also offering coupons for use at retail pharmacies. At launch, the platform features more than 40 drugs, including high-profile weight-loss treatments such as Ozempic and Wegovy.
The rollout is part of a broader effort by the Trump administration to show it is tackling high living costs, a growing political vulnerability for Republicans ahead of November’s midterm elections. Polls show Americans remain deeply concerned about the price of housing, groceries, utilities and health care.
Trump said the discounts were the result of pressure he personally applied to pharmaceutical companies, arguing that Americans have long overpaid for medicines compared with patients overseas.
“We’re tired of subsidizing the world,” he said, adding that drug prices abroad would rise as companies adjusted to lower prices in the US.

Egypt has emerged as a key back-channel mediator, establishing contact with Iran's IRGC and proposing a five-day pause in fighting to build momentum for a ceasefire, a move that appears to have nudged US President Donald Trump to drop his threat to strike Iran's power plants, The Wall Street Journal reported.
