IIT Madras research scholar records wholesome video of deer feeding calf in middle of road
India Today
A rare moment of peace between humans and wildlife was captured on IIT Madras campus by a research scholar and the wholesome video has over 10 million views.
It wasn’t a traffic stop or a signal that made people pause on an IIT Madras road, it was a mother deer and her calf, sharing a quiet moment.
A video from IIT Madras shows a mother deer calmly feeding her calf right in the middle of the road, undisturbed and at ease. What makes the moment truly special, however, is not just the sight itself, but the response it received from people around.
Shared on social media by Vaibhav Gujar, the clip captures the pair standing peacefully as the calf feeds, completely unaware, or perhaps unbothered, by the world around them. Vehicles and passersby can be seen slowing down or stopping at a distance, allowing the animals their space instead of rushing past or interrupting the moment.
“This is the spirit of IIT Madras,” reads the caption. In a world often defined by haste and noise, the quiet respect shown by those present stands out just as much as the scene itself.
