According to posts shared by the official Twitter handle of National Railways, photos of molten train signaling equipment gave a clear depiction of the dire condition.
The mercury has alarmingly shot up in parts of Europe that are reeling under a severe heatwave due to wildfires raging across Portugal, Spain, France, Greece and Croatia. Amid this, the UK has been experiencing scorching temperatures topping 40 degrees Celcius. As a result, daily lives of the citizens have taken a hit as incidents of damaged train signals were reported.

We're repairing the line after a fire on the route between Peterborough and London King’s Cross,” read the caption.

Another post shared by a Twitter user named George Fouracres showed fire sprinklers getting activated inside a building as a result of the sweltering heat.
“When global warming sets off your thatched roof’s anti-Puritan/cannonfire sprinklers,” he wrote.
