A government school teacher’s act of kindness towards one of his students has garnered a big round of applause from social media users after he bought a new uniform for a child who said he could not afford one.
In a post on Instagram, Shubham Sherwal shared a video of his interaction with a student named Raj during a classroom conversation.
In the video, Sherwal asked Raj why he was not wearing his uniform pants, to which he said that his pants were torn.
When asked why he had not brought a new pair, Raj said he would buy one when his “grandfather’s pension comes.”
The teacher then learnt that the child’s parents were no more. As Raj spoke, his eyes appeared teary, and the teacher hugged and encouraged him.
The next day, the teacher returned to class carrying a new shirt and a pair of pants for Raj that he had purchased for him. In the video, he was seen handing the clothes to Raj and helping him put them on.
