A video showing a train coach strewn with food wrappers, bottles and other trash has triggered a debate after a passenger claimed the mess was left behind by a group of Class 10 students travelling to Manali.
The 43-second clip, recorded inside the coach, shows the compartment littered with snack packets, water bottles, soiled spoons and bedsheets scattered on the floor. The students themselves are not visible in the video as the passenger appears to have filmed the coach after they had left.
In the video, the passenger can be heard speaking in Hindi about the incident and urging better civic behaviour.
“People talk about civic sense. There are Class 10 students here who are going on a Manali tour. I told them to pick up the trash. In fact, I also picked up some garbage in front of them,” the passenger said.
“I told them this is public property, and they should not behave like this. These are the same people who will later go on Instagram and Twitter and post things. I don’t blame them, but they should at least have this basic knowledge. They should not create such a mess,” he added.
He also said that the students appeared to be teenagers: “They are kids, maybe 16 or 17 at most. But everyone should have this much sense.”

When we look at Iran through the prism of religion and see a Shia Islamic country, we negate its thousands of years of rich pre-Islamic Persian culture. A dive into the world of Zoroastrianism and Vedas shows us how Indians and Iranians have been sharing languages, Gods, sciences and a sacred fire for thousands of years.
