Tamannaah Bhatia launches new Mysore Sandal Soap products in Bengaluru, promoting the brand’s expansion into personal care.

Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd. (KSDL) on Tuesday launched a range of new products under its flagship Mysore Sandal Soap brand, with actor Tamannaah Bhatia, the company’s brand ambassador, formally unveiling the portfolio.

Ms. Bhatia has been appointed as the brand face to promote Mysore Sandal Soap’s cosmetic and personal care range, including newly introduced face wash products, across various media platforms. The initiative is aimed at enhancing brand visibility and expanding its appeal, particularly among younger consumers, while strengthening the brand’s presence in national and international markets.

The public sector undertaking (PSU) claimed it recorded its highest-ever turnover over the past three years, with revenues rising to ₹1,787 crore in 2024–25, compared with ₹1,571 crore in 2023–24 and ₹1,375 crore in 2022–23. Profits increased from ₹182.49 crore in 2022–23 to ₹451 crore in 2024–25, the company said in a release.

The company paid dividends of ₹54.75 crore in 2022–23, ₹108.62 crore in 2023–24 and ₹134.84 crore in 2024–25 to the State government, besides a special dividend of ₹360.10 crore in 2023–24. KSDL also contributed ₹5 crore each in 2023–24 and 2024–25 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, the release said.

Despite being a traditional public sector enterprise, KSDL has expanded into e-commerce and modern trade sectors, said the release. The new product portfolio includes soaps, agarbathies, perfumes, shampoos, face wash products and home care items.

The event was attended by Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development M.B. Patil, and Appaji C.S. Nadagouda, chairman of KSDL and MLA for Muddebihal, among others.
