Thousands arrived to pay their respects to deceased Congress MLA PT Thomas on Thursday. The body was first taken to his residence in Ernakulam and is now kept at Town Hall.
Rahul Gandhi arrived at the Town Hall to pay homage to the veteran Congress leader. Congress leaders placed party flags instead of wreaths. While on his deathbed, Thomas had given specific instructions to his associate as to how his funeral will be carried out.

Amid preparations for an engagement and haldi ceremony in Maharashtra's Dhule district, an argument broke out between two groups over the printing of names on a wedding invitation card, during which three people were attacked with sharp weapons and killed. Three others were injured and are undergoing treatment.
