
Thor Love and Thunder box office collection Day 12: Chris Hemsworth's film mints Rs 399.8 crore worldwide

Chris Hemsworth's film Thor: Love and Thunder opened to good numbers at the box office collection. It is now nearing the $500-million mark worldwide.
Chris Hemsworth starrer Thor: Love and Thunder got the biggest release in India and worldwide on July 7. It doesn't seem to be slowing down at the box office now! Oscar-winner Taika Waititi’s directorial opened to excellent numbers at the tickets window. The movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson in lead roles. The Disney/Marvel’s film led the international box office weekend with an added $60.1M from 47 material markets. It now crossed the $500-million mark worldwide.
Thor: Love And Thunder took an excellent opening on Day 1. The film registered around 40-45 per cent occupancy despite being a non-holiday release. It collected a whopping Rs 24 crore at the global box office collection on Day 1 of its release. This is also the fifth-biggest opening day for any Hollywood film in India.
According to a Deadline report, Thor: Love And Thunder crossed the $500-million mark with $498 million through Sunday. The overseas drop was 59 per cent from last weekend. That’s a skosh lower than Spider-Man: No Way Home’s 60 per cent sophomore dip. Regionally, Asia-Pacific saw the biggest slide on Thor 4 with -64 percent. Meanwhile, Europe/Middle East/Africa was down 56 per cent and Latin America 53 per cent.
Directed by Oscar winner Taika Waititi, the film stars Chris along with a stellar ensemble cast that includes Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman. The film also marks Christian Bale's MCU debut. Meanwhile, the Chris Hemsworth and Christian Bale starrer saw a strong occupancy of around 40-45 per cent on its opening day. It collected a whopping Rs 18 crore at the Indian box office on Day 1, making it the fifth-biggest opening day for any Hollywood film in India.
Christian Bale made his MCU debut with Thor: Love and Thunder and was released in India on July 7. The film released in 6 languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Thor: Love and Thunder follows Thor's journey and his quest for inner peace. However, his retirement gets interrupted by Gorr the God Butcher, a galactic killer who seeks the extinction of the gods.
