Ram Gopal Varma has once again praised Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge, calling it nothing short of a cinematic phenomenon. Riding high on record-breaking numbers and widespread acclaim, the Ranveer Singh starrer continues to spark strong reactions within the industry. Varma described it as a turning point for Indian cinema.
On March 21, the filmmaker shared a bold statement on X, elevating the film beyond conventional praise and positioning it as a benchmark for future releases.
He described the film as more than just a movie, calling it a defining moment that could reshape filmmaking standards in the industry.
He wrote, “The #Dhurandhar2 is not a film .. it is a RESET BUTTON for INDIAN CINEMA ..it will be foolish on all film makers part not to forget all films which were made before March 19th 2026 and starting from March 19th 2026 onwards everybody should bench mark all their to be made films with #Dhurandhar2 or else they will PERISH in it’s FIRE (sic)."
