Thiruvananthapuram: Couple dies by suicide, 20-day-old baby abandoned

A couple was found dead in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday and their 20-day-old baby girl was left abandoned in the house.
A couple was found dead at their rented house in the Kavalakulam area in Thiruvananthapuram’s Neyyattinkara on Monday.
Their 20-day-old baby girl was left abandoned and was found in the house in poor health.
The incident came to light when the home nurse came to their apartment. She informed the landlord and they called the police.
The deceased were identified as Shiju Stephen (45), a man engaged in painting work and his wife Pramila (37), according to local media reports.
The man was found lying on the floor, while the woman was found hanging from a ceiling fan.
The family was reportedly facing financial issues as they had been unable to pay their house rent for the past four months and were also not able to pay the home nurse, whom they hired to take care of the newborn.
