The cleaning machine somehow managed to give the staff of the Travelodge hotel a slip as it went 'missing' on Thursday, as per a report by BBC.com.
The vacuum cleaner was eventually found a day later. It somehow managed to go undetected past the front door of the hotel located in Orchard Park, Cambridge.
The worried staff members turned to social media for help. "Today we had one of our new robot vacuums run for its life," the assistant manager wrote in a post on Reddit — that has since been deleted.
"They normally sense the lip at the entrance [to the hotel] and turn around, but this one decided to make a run for it," the post read, as per the BBC report.
The vacuum cleaner was later found under a hedge up on the front drive by a hotel employee.
The hotel confirmed to the media that the machine has now been "dusted off and is sitting happily on a shelf with the rest of its robot vacuum family".
