Tata Punch mini-SUV: What we know so far
India Today
We expect Tata Motors to price the upcoming Tata Punch mini-SUV in the Rs 5 lakh- Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom, India) price bracket.
Tata Motors first introduced the Tata Punch micro-SUV as the Tata H2X concept at Geneva Motor Show in 2019, and then as the Tata HBX micro-SUV at the Auto Expo 2020. Tata Motors' new SUV Punch would rival the likes of the smaller compact SUVs in India such as Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, as well as Hyundai’s upcoming AX1 mini-SUV. The new Tata Punch will sit below the Tata Nexon SUV, and joins the Tata Harrier and Tata Safari in the company’s India SUV line-up. We expect Tata Motors to price the upcoming Tata Punch mini-SUV in the Rs 5 lakh- Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom, India) price bracket. The new Tata Punch mini-SUV is Tata’s first SUV built on the global ALFA-ARC platform (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture), developed under Impact 2.0 Design Language. This scalable platform also underpins Tata’s premium Altroz hatchback. The new Tata Punch features a stylish front grill, and distinctly split headlamps that liken it to the Harrier, but its tail lamps will be smaller and round, forming a modern visor and giving the mini-SUV a premium and sporty impression. The mini-SUV also features black cladding all around the body. To add to its appeal, the Tata Punch will have a sloping roof, squared wheel arches and a higher window line. The Tata Punch mini-SUV will supersede the Nexon in terms of height and breadth and command an on-road presence similar to that of a full-sized SUV.
