A court in Sullia has directed a resident of Sullia to do traffic awareness and traffic control duty for 15 days, and imposed a penalty of ₹ 3,000, on finding him guilty of three traffic violations under Indian Motor Vehicle Act. He was disqualified from holding driving licence for three months.
The Senior Civil Judge and JMFC, Sullia, B. Mohan Babu, on March 12, convicted Sullia resident G. The Sullia police had filed a chargesheet against Rakshith in connection with three separate cases booked against him on February 24.
The Magistrate sentenced Rakshith to do community service for a total period of 15 days (five days for each case) from March 13 to March 27. He was asked to create awareness about following traffic rules among public by holding a placard on the rules. He was asked to attend traffic control duty, as per directions of Police Sub Inspector (PSI) Sullia, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Directing the PSI/Station House Officer of Sullia Police to give necessary directions to Rakshith in discharge of community service sentence, the Magistrate said PSI/SHO should submit compliance report about effective completion of the service. If the community service by Rakshith is not satisfactory, then the sentence will continue for a further period of five days in each case, the Magistrate said.
