A fire broke out on the Manali sub-station premises on Monday (March 16, 2026) morning, triggering panic among motorists and passersby in the area.
According to sources, thick smoke was seen billowing from the premises, drawing the attention of people nearby and causing concern among those travelling along the stretch. Personnel from the Fire and Rescue Services rushed to the spot soon after receiving information and swiftly brought the blaze under control. No casualties or injuries were reported.
Police sources said it is suspected that a spark from a high-power cable triggered the fire as it spilled onto furnace oil pools on the ground.
