A stray dog was spotted calmly sitting on the roof of a moving auto rickshaw in Pune. The viral video sparked mixed reactions as users showed both amusement and concern over the scene.
A video from Pune’s Dange Chowk showing a dog calmly sitting on the roof of a moving auto rickshaw has caught the attention of social media users, with reactions ranging from amusement to concern over safety.
The clip was recorded on a mobile phone by Gaurav Satish Gavde, who later shared it on Instagram. In the footage, the auto-rickshaw can be seen driving along a public road while the dog remains perched on the vehicle’s roof, sitting quietly and appearing unusually relaxed despite the movement below.
Another thing that added to the intrigue around the video was the speculation that the driver may not have been aware of the animal sitting above him as he continued driving through traffic. The unusual visual of a stray dog riding atop a moving rickshaw was what led to the video blowing up across social platforms.
Online, viewers responded in different ways. Some described the moment as surprising and pretty humorous, pointing to the dog’s calm posture and balance as the vehicle moved.
Others, however, criticised the situation as careless and potentially dangerous, describing it as an instance of negligence and a violation of basic traffic safety norms. Concerns were also raised about the risk of the animal falling onto the road or getting injured in case of sudden braking or turns.
