Police have arrested Hardik, accused of stabbing his twin sister Himshikha to death and attacking his mother in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad. During interrogation, he told police he acted in rage after a breakup with a woman he met on Instagram.
Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad have arrested a man accused of brutally murdering his twin sister and attempting to kill his mother in a shocking incident that unfolded just days after the siblings returned home for Holi from Gurugram.
The accused, Hardik, who had fled after the attack, was arrested by police teams following a search operation on March 7th . During interrogation, he allegedly confessed that he killed his sister in a fit of rage on Friday, triggered by emotional distress after a breakup with a woman he had met on Instagram. The family in happier times.
According to police officials, Hardik told investigators that he had fallen in love with a woman from Pune after they connected on social media. The relationship lasted for several months before ending around seven months ago. He claimed that after the breakup he slipped into depression and gradually began believing that his mother Neelima and twin sister Himshikha were responsible for the collapse of the relationship.
“After the breakup I became very depressed. My mother and sister tried to console me, but I felt they were behind the end of my relationship. I suddenly lost control,” Hardik allegedly told police during questioning.
When the police interrogated the accused Hardik, he said:
“I had started talking to a girl on Instagram, and eventually I fell in love with her. About seven months ago, we broke up, after which I went into depression. My sister and mother used to try to console me, but this time I suddenly lost my temper.”
