
4 Delhi teens detained for abusing, assaulting Manipur woman with belt

The woman had gone to the area to meet a friend when a group of teenage boys allegedly began passing abusive remarks and sexual slurs. When the woman objected, the teenagers assaulted her, with one of them using a belt.
A woman from Manipur was allegedly abused and assaulted by a group of boys in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area. Four juveniles were apprehended in connection with the incident.
The incident took place on the evening of March 8 at Satpura Park in Malviya Nagar. The woman had gone to the area to meet a friend when a group of teenage boys present in the park allegedly began passing abusive remarks and sexual slurs.
When the woman objected, the teenagers assaulted her, with one of them using a belt.
Police said a PCR call reporting a quarrel by an unknown person at the park was received at Malviya Nagar police station. Soon after the call, the cops reached the spot and met the injured woman.
In her statement to the police, the woman alleged that the boys verbally abused her and her friend while they were taking pictures in the park. When they objected to the remarks, the boys allegedly became aggressive, racially abused them and physically assaulted her.
She further alleged that one of the accused punched her in the face and chased her when she tried to escape. The woman also claimed that she sought help from bystanders during the incident but no one intervened.
