SSLC examination to be closely monitored by control room in DC office in Mandya

CCTV surveillance and webcasting for SSLC exams in Mandya; 20,469 students to appear, strict measures in place.
The control room set up at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mandya will closely monitor the SSLC examination commencing from March 21 with all the examination centres going to be under CCTV surveillance and measures taken for the webcasting of the examination process. The examination concludes on April 4.
Deputy Commissioner Kumara on Friday presided over a meeting with the officials to review the arrangements and measures taken for the smooth conduct of the examination.
As many as 20,469 students, including 10,661 boys and 9,835 girls, will be appearing for the examination this year.
In total, the examination will be held in 62 centres and each centre will have a headmaster as the chief superintendent, besides paper custodians. Each block in the centre will have a nodal officer to oversee the examination process.
The Deputy Commissioner said measures have been taken to ensure transparency in the conduct of the examination. Rooms in every examination centre will be equipped with CCTV cameras, and the entire process will be webcast. Officers have been appointed to monitor the examination process based on the footage accessed from the cameras installed at the centres in the district.
Mr. Kumara gave strict instructions to the officials that every exam centre must have proper arrangements for the students like tables, desks, and so on. Drinking water and toilet facilities must be ensured, he said in the meeting.
He said that mobile phones are strictly barred inside the examination centre for students, and even teachers should not bring their mobile phones inside the exam centre.
