SS Rajamouli asks if Ranbir Kapoor's Animal role is violent like Kabir Singh. Sandeep Reddy responds

After Shamshera and Brahmastra, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in Animal. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, he told SS Rajamouli if Ranbir's character from Animal is similar to Arjun Reddy or Kabir Singh.

RRR, helmed by SS Rajamouli, stars Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Ajay Devgn in the lead. The film is all set to hit the theatres on March 25. Promotions of RRR are going in full swing. Ahead of the film’s release, director SS Rajamouli engaged in a conversation with Arjun Reddy director Sandeep Reddy Vanga about films, directions and much more. Which is when Sandeep, who is directing Ranbir Kapoor in the 2023 release Animal, shared if the latter's character has slices of Arjun Reddy or Kabir Singh in it.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga is directing Ranbir Kapoor in Animal. The ace director has films such as Arjun Reddy to his credit. Recently, Sandeep and SS Rajamouli interacted ahead of the latter’s film, RRR’s release. This is when Rajamouli asked Sandeep if Ranbir’s character from Animal is violent and has slices of Arjun Reddy or Kabir Singh in it. Sandeep replied, “There's nothing similar between Ranbir's character in Animal and Kabir Singh.”

Rajamouli further asked Sandeep, “Since you have named the film Animal, it gives a sense that Ranbir's character would be violent. The audience is thinking like this, including me.” And Sandeep answered, “There's violence, but the characters are not the same. I used to ask my ADs if there are shades of Kabir Singh or Arjun Reddy in Animal. But no, the plot and characters are different. The only common thread between both films is that they are character-driven stories.”

Animal is a crime drama, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in the lead. Ranbir is likely to play an intense and dark character in Animal. In the announcement video, the actor talked about his character’s troubled relationship with his father, which ended in gunshots. Sharing the release date of Animal, producer Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series Instagram handle said, “Bhushan Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor & Sandeep Reddy Vanga's crime drama film, ANIMAL to hit theaters worldwide on 11th August 2023 (sic).”
