
Sony WH-1000XM5 design leaked, expected to come with a bigger battery

The Sony WH-1000XM5 is expected to offer better battery life than the Sony WH-1000XM4.
Sony is speculated to launch the successor to its most powerful headphones— WH-1000XM4. The design of the upcoming Sony WH-1000XM5 has been leaked online. Along with the design, the specifications of the headphones have also been tipped. The reports suggest that the headphones will feature a massive battery and better ANC.
Technik News has shared the high quality renders of the Sony WH-1000XM5. The headphones feature the same design as the WH-1000XM4. There are small but notable changes in the headphones. The ear pads look bigger than its predecessor and the headband has thick padding. This suggests that the new model could be more comfortable to wear. There is no slider but an on and off button has replaced it. There is a depicted button for Noise Cancellation and Ambient mode. The leak suggests that the headphones would be offered in two colours, including Black and Silver.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Sony WH-1000XM5 offers better battery life than the Sony WH-1000XM4. The upcoming headphones are expected to offer up to 40 hours of battery life with ANC, which is 10 hours more than the WH-1000XM4. However, it would reportedly take longer to charge the device. The report suggest that it takes 3.5 hours to fully charge. The company is expected to improve the ANC performance in the Sony WH-1000XM5 by using a more powerful chipset in the device. Sony is yet to confirm the launch of the Sony WH-1000XM5.
In India, the Sony WH-1000XM4 retails at Rs 29,900. The headphones are powered by the HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1 albeit with improved algorithms. The company claims that the improvement in the processor will provide 20 per cent better noise cancellation performance as compared to the predecessor. The WH-1000XM4 comes with the Dual Noise Sensor technology which captures ambient noise and passes the data to the trusted HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1.
The Sony WH-1000XM4 are equipped with 40mm drivers on each earcup which can seamlessly handle heavy beats and reproduce a full range of frequencies up to 40kHz.As far as the new additions are concerned, the Sony WH-1000XM4 comes with new speak-to-chat feature. The new feature stops the music when the user is speaking to someone and lets the ambient sound come in so that a user can continue with the headphones on.
