The Skoda Kushaq is based on the MQB-A0-IN, a variant of the modular MQB platform specially adapted by Skoda for India. The Kushaq rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun and the upcoming MG Astor in India.
The Kushaq employs two petrol engines - a BS6 1.0 TSI petrol producing 112bhp transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The other is a BS6 1.5-litre TSI petrol developing 147bhp, coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox, and a 7-speed DSG. It measures 4,221mm in length, 1,760mm in width and 1,612mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,651mm. it has a ground clearance of 188mm. The metallic Honey Orange and Tornado Red paintwork is exclusively offered by Skoda for the Indian market, in addition to Candy White, Metallic Reflex Silver and Metallic Carbon Steel.
