School teacher in Tamil Nadu arrested for sexually harassing students

Female students from a TN government school in Madurai district’s Ayyur village said that their commerce teacher, Jayaraman, spoke and acted inappropriately towards them. After an investigation by the Child Protection Officer, he was arrested under the POCSO Act.
A commerce teacher at a Tamil Nadu government school in Madurai district's Ayyur village was arrested by authorities for sexually harassing girl students in the school.
Jayaraman, from RS Mathur village, was working as a commerce teacher at a government school. Several female students from the school stated that Jayaraman was speaking and acting inappropriately towards them.
Upon hearing this, the parents of the female students raised a complaint. Subsequently, an inquiry was conducted by Child Protection Officer Selvaraj.
Later, Selvaraj filed a complaint with Jayankondam All Women Police Station, who conducted an investigation and arrested Selvaraj under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Further investigations are underway.
