Sarathkumar shares health update about Vijayakanth, confirms it was a routine check up

Veteran actor Vijayakanth was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai early this morning (May 19). Actor Sarathkumar confirms that it was just for a routine check up.

On Wednesday, yesteryear actor and founder of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), Vijayakanth, was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. According to the press statement released by his party, the actor was admitted to the hospital to get his general health check-up done and is said to be discharged in a day or two. Vijayakanth’s co-star R Sarathkumar took to Twitter to confirm the news after speaking to DMDK Deputy Secretary LK Sudesh. . , .L.K. Sarathkumar and Vijayakanth have worked together in six Tamil films and are close friends. Taking to Twitter, Sarathkumar shared an update on Vijayakanth’s health. His tweet in Tamil can be roughly translated as, “Following the news that my dear friend Mr Vijayakanth was admitted to the hospital today due to ill health, I contacted DMDK Deputy Secretary Mr LK Sudeesh and enquired about his well being. The captain was admitted to the hospital for their routine check-up and it is gratifying that Sudesh said he was fine (sic).”
