India Today
Apart from high-res renders, the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series have also been leaked online, leaving nothing to the imagination. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming flagship phones.
Samsung has officially announced that it will host its latest Galaxy Unpacked event on February 9. At the event, it will launch its flagship Galaxy S22 series, which will likely include a standard model, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Now, ahead of the official unveiling, specifications and high-resolution images of all the variants have surfaced online, revealing the design of the smartphones from all angles.
As per the renders shared by known tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks), the Samsung Galaxy S22+ will carry the same design DNA as the Galaxy S22. Upon close inspection, one can clearly make out that the standard model will be shorter than the Plus model. Both the variants will offer a flat display with minimal bezels. One will see a punch-hole display design and the cut out is placed top-centre. These could be made available in green, pink gold, black, and white colour options.
The Ultra model will have a design similar to the Galaxy Note series. The renders suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will come with support for S Pen, which is not surprising. It will have a curved display and squared-off edges, which will remind one of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphone. It seems to have a matte finish on the rear. It also appears that the device has five cameras at the back, while the other two phones will pack a triple rear camera setup.
Apart from high-res renders, the specifications of the alleged Galaxy S22 series have also been leaked by German tech publication WinFuture, leaving nothing to the imagination. The standard Samsung Galaxy S22 reportedly has a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a peak brightness of 1,500nits. The panel operates at Full HD+ resolution and supports a 120Hz refresh rate.
It could offer a triple-camera setup on the back, comprising of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. On the front, there could be a 10-megapixel selfie camera with 1.22 µm pixels. Some of the users who have been waiting for the Galaxy S22 might get disappointed as Samsung seems to have downgraded the battery capacity. The leak reveals that the device will arrive with a 3,700mAh battery. Comparatively, the S21 offers a 4,000mAh battery, which is also not enough for hard core usage.
The Samsung Galaxy S22+ is said to have a bigger 4,500mAh battery and support for UWB. It reportedly has a slightly larger 6.6-inch display with a higher peak brightness of 1750 nits. The rest of the specifications, such as the rear camera setup, are identical to the standard model. The leak also claims that the devices will have an IP68 rating, meaning these units will be dust and water-resistant. They are also expected to come with Wi-Fi 6 support and a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port.
Lastly, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to feature a 6.8-inch display with QHD+ resolution. It has the same peak brightness as the Galaxy S22+. In terms of optics, the leak claims that the smartphone will have four cameras at the back and not five, as suggested by the renders.

Samsung has been teasing its upcoming A-series devices since last week, without officially revealing their names. While speculation has largely pointed to the Galaxy A37 and A57, a lengthy video recently surfaced ahead of any official confirmation, revealing the key specs and pricing of the devices.
