
Rotary Special Sports 2025 held for children with disabilities

Rotary Special Sports 2025: Inclusive event for children with disabilities, promoting unity, inspiration, and recognition of potential.
The Rotary Club of Chennai (Central Elite) on Saturday hosted the Rotary Special Sports 2025, an event held exclusively for children with disabilities. As part of this, 1,500 children participated in various activities such as 50-m and 100-m races, long jump, skipping races, and frog jump.
Santosh Kumari Rathod, president of the club, said: “We hope this day inspires every family, school, and individual to look beyond abilities and recognise the extraordinary potential in every child.” Ajay Hemakumar, project chair, added: “This event is not just for them, it is for all of us to learn, to celebrate, and to believe in a better, more inclusive world.”
The chief guests included Mahaveer Bothra, rotary district governor, inspirational speaker Neeraja Malik, Thulasimathi Murugesan, a Paralympic badminton champion and Arjuna Award recipient. Over 250 special prizes were awarded, along with participatory gifts for all children.
