India Today
The Redmi 10A is expected to cost between Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 in India. The entry-level phone could launch on April 20.
It is being said that Xiaomi is planning to launch an entry-level phone in the Indian market. A report by Passionate Geekz suggests that the company could announce the Redmi 10A in India on April 20. Xiaomi didn’t launch the successor for the Redmi 9A in 2021, so the upgrade is still due. The Redmi 9A made its debut back in September 2020 and we may now finally get the new version with improved features.
The Redmi 10A is expected to cost between Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 in India. The device was first launched in China in March this year, and it is selling at a starting price of CNY 699, which is around Rs 8,300 in India when converted. Its predecessor, the Redmi 9A, is available for purchase with a starting price of Rs 6,962 on Flipkart.
In China, the Redmi 10A is shipping with an octa-core Mediatek Helio G25 chipset. It could be backed by up to 6GB RAM and 128Gb storage. The device has a 6.53-inch screen. The panel operates at HD+ resolution, which is not surprising considering this is an entry-level phone. It has support for 400nits of peak brightness and a 20:9 aspect ratio.
The Redmi 10A features a waterdrop-style notched display. For photography, there will be a total of two cameras. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel sensor for selfies and a 13-megapixel main camera on the backside. Under the hood is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging. These specifications look similar to the Redmi 9A, which suggests that the Redmi 10A will just be a minor upgrade with a newer design.
There are chances that Xiaomi might tweak some of the specifications of the Indian market to offer a better version to customers. Nothing is confirmed as of now, so we will have to wait for a few weeks to see what Xiaomi has planned. The brand hasn’t yet announced the official India launch date of the Redmi 10A.
Meanwhile, the brand is gearing up to launch the Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphone in India, just a day before the launch of the OnePlus phones. The flagship device will be seen competing against the recently launched One Plus 10 Pro and Realme GT 2 Pro. The Xiaomi 12 Pro is already available outside India and comes with a flagship-grade Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip and an LTPO display for improved power consumption. It has support for 120W fast charging as well.

Samsung has been teasing its upcoming A-series devices since last week, without officially revealing their names. While speculation has largely pointed to the Galaxy A37 and A57, a lengthy video recently surfaced ahead of any official confirmation, revealing the key specs and pricing of the devices.
