Ranbir Kapoor treats himself to Galouti Kebabs on his cheat days, his fitness trainer Shivoham reveals

In an exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.in, Ranbir Kapoor's fitness trainer Shivoham spilled the details about his diet plan, training and more.

Ranbir Kapoor, who has always been on the skinnier side, will be seen in two different looks in his upcoming projects. The actor, who recently married Alia Bhatt, has left no stone unturned to train for his upcoming films - a rom-com and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal. The Rockstar actor's trainer Dheepesh Bhatt, better known as Shivoham, exclusively spoke with IndiaToday.in and revealed Ranbir's training process, diet plan and more.

Shivoham has trained celebrities like Aamir Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan among others in the past. When asked how he got to work with Ranbir, he said it was filmmaker Ayan Mukerji who recommended his name to the actor.

“I was working on another project in Delhi when Ranbir called me. Actually, Ayan Mukerji had recommended my name to him. I have known Ayan for a very long time. He asked Ranbir to train with me. It's been a year and a half now. We started training last January. He told me that he is shooting for a rom-com film for which he needs to be very lean and then will move on to Animal, for which, again, the look is very different. So, there will be certain aspects and phases to the transformation. We started off slow and our first project (rom-com) film is coming to an end. We will soon start working on his transformation for Animal," Shivoham said.

Speaking about the brief given to him for Ranbir's transformation, Shivoham said, "It had to be a lean and a clean-cut-up muscular look. Nothing too big or a 'chor' body! When the T-shirt is off, that's when you can see the lean muscular body.”

“To look lean and muscular on camera, you just need to be fit and Ranbir is already a tall guy. His shoulders are already very broad. When he comes on screen, even if there's a bit of leanness with definition, he will automatically look big. That is an advantage for us, as we didn't have to go too overboard. We just had to make sure we did the right training and looked after the diet. We've managed to achieve it so far, but still, there is time to work on,” Shivoham further said.

Ranbir Kapoor’s trainer Shivoham was all praise for the actor and his dedication to fitness.

"He is a superb human being, I have known him but this is the first time I got to know him personally. I just love training him. He is super punctual and down-to-earth, very well-mannered. Ranbir is one of those people who trust you and leave everything to you if they have appointed you. Of course, he asks questions and it is a good thing for me as a professional too. It is not about blindly following, as a student you should know why you are doing certain things. So this process with him has been very rewarding,” he said.
