India Meteorological Department said that light to moderate rain/thunder showers likely to occur at one or two places over Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts for the next three days till March 31.

Rain with hailstorm lashed Nellikaru, Edu, Hosmar, Bajagoli, Kervashe, Shirlalu, Mundli and Ajekaru in Karkala of Udupi district on Saturday. Several places in Sullia, Puttur, Bantwal and Mangaluru taluks in Dakshina Kannada also reported rainfall.
According to Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), Balnadu in Puttur taluk of the district recorded 45 mm rainfall in 24 hours ending at 8.30 a.m. on Saturday. Renjala in Karkala taluk of Udupi district reported 2 mm rainfall during the same period.
The KSNDMC said in 23 hours ending at 7.30 a.m. on Saturday (from 8.30 a.m. on Friday to 7.30 a.m. on Saturday), Kepu and Alike in Bantwal taluk recorded 42.5 mm and 32.5 mm rainfall, respectively. Munduru in Puttur taluk recorded 22.5 mm rainfall. Punacha and Vitla Padnur in Bantwal taluk recorded 20.5 mm and 18 mm rainfall, respectively.
