The new flagship processor by Qualcomm promises about 20 per cent AI and performance improvements over the Snapdragon 888, enabling more on-device computations than before.
Chip major Qualcomm has announced a new flagship processor for smartphones called Snapdragon 888 Plus. Adding the Plus moniker to the previous flagship, the latest Snapdragon 888 Plus comes with about 20 per cent performance improvement over the Snapdragon 888. The upgrades are summed up by two major changes to the Qualcomm chipset. One, it is based on a 64-bit Qualcomm Kryo 680 CPU that is clocked at up to 3 GHz. Qualcomm says that it enables more efficient processing than before, thanks to its architecture based on Arm Cortex-X1 technology. It highlights that the upgrade will benefit “complex on-device interactions” like gaming and content creation.
Samsung has been teasing its upcoming A-series devices since last week, without officially revealing their names. While speculation has largely pointed to the Galaxy A37 and A57, a lengthy video recently surfaced ahead of any official confirmation, revealing the key specs and pricing of the devices.
