Pro-Pakistan elements want communal disharmony in country: Bangladesh minister Hasan Mahmud

Bangladesh minister M Hasan Mahmud said on Thursday elements close to Pakistan who had opposed the 1971 liberation war want to create communal disharmony in his country.

Asserting that 'secularism is the soul of Bangladesh', Bangladesh Information and Broadcasting Minister M Hasan Mahmud said on Thursday that 'we are Republic of Bangladesh not Islamic Republic of Bangladesh.'

Hasan Mahmud was speaking during the inauguration of 'Bangabandhu Sangbad Kendra' (media Centre) at the Kolkata Press Club.
