Amid the buzz, Prakash also addressed rumours on social media suggesting he was stepping in for Akshaye Khanna, setting the record straight before the speculation could grow further.

Prakash Raj’s entry comes after Akshaye Khanna exited the project, leading to tensions between the actor and the film’s producers. Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak revealed that Khanna quit the film just a day before the release of Dhurandhar on December 5, 2025, despite having a signed agreement and locked fees after several renegotiations.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Pathak said, "We had signed an agreement with Akshaye Khanna. His fees were locked after several renegotiations. He insisted on wearing a wig, but Abhishek Pathak explained how it would affect continuity. He initially agreed, but later people around him suggested he would look better with it, and he raised the demand again."

Aditya Dhar doesn't make it easy to watch Dhurandhar: The Revenge. He lets you experience the discomfort, the silence that haunts and the screams that linger longer than you want. But at the centre of it all is India's clear policy: anti-terror, not anti-Pakistan. Consider this your spoiler warning.
