Prabhas to burn Ravan effigy at Lav Kush Ramlila in Delhi this year

Baahubali star Prabhas is set to burn Ravan effigy at Delhi's Luv Kush Ramlila in Delhi. Earlier Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and John Abraham have been a part of this event.

Baahubali Prabhas will do the Ravan dahan at Lav Kush Ramlila in Delhi this year. The actor will be seen playing Ram in Om Raut's Adipurush. The pan-India movie is touted to be a gamechanger for Indian cinema. The biggie is an adaptation of the Ramayana and celebrates the "victory of good over evil". Prabhas will be seen opposite Kriti Sanon in the film.

The Lav Kush Ramlila committee have reached out to Prabhas to be a guest and burn the Ravan effigy on Dussehra, October 5. The Dussehra festivities will begin from September 26. This year the committee is set to make a pandal themed on Ayodhya's Ram Mandir on the Red Fort lawns.

Arjun Kumar, head of the Lav Kush Ramlila committee, spoke to ANI and shared his excitement about this year's plans. He said, "Since Prabhas is already playing the role of Lord Rama in the upcoming film Adipurush, who better than him to set the evilness of Raavan on fire this Dussehra!"

He added, "Like always there are going to be three effigies - each of Raavan, Kumbh Karan, and Meghnaad, and Prabhas will shoot his arrow in the air to burn each of them off!"

Adipurush is a mythological drama that features Prabhas as Lord Ram. A fan-made poster of the film went viral on social media a few days ago and created a great deal of buzz among netizens. Adipurush features Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist Lankesh and marks his Telugu debut. The cast includes Kriti Sanon and Sunny Singh. Adipurush is set to open in theatres on January 12, 2023.
