Ram Gopal Varma has doubled down on his praise for Dhurandhar 2 after watching the film, calling it the birth of a "new cinematic order." He even urged filmmakers like Steven Spielberg and Christopher Nolan to catch it first day, first show.
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma on Wednesday shared yet another note predicting the massive success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. In his latest X post, the filmmaker revealed that he watched the film on Tuesday night. Appreciating its cinematic grammar, he called it the "birth of a new cinematic order" and urged acclaimed international filmmakers like Steven Spielberg and Christopher Nolan to catch the film's first day, first show.
The Aditya Dhar directorial is hitting theatres today, with special premieres this evening ahead of a wider release tomorrow.
The 63-year-old, who has been on a Dhurandhar appreciation spree for months, also said the Ranveer Singh starrer will make Hindi classics like "Sholay and Mughal-e-Azam look like TV series."
"After last nights watch of #Dhurandhar2 in terms of it's sheer cumulative impact in every which way , whether on it’s expected collections , audience euphoria , social influences , cinematic grammar breaking , and above all the psychological audio visual impact , it will be a SHOLAY x 100 level magnificence and is bound to make all the greatest films made so far starting from MUGHAL E AZAM. onwards look like TV SERIALS (sic)," he wrote in the post.
RGV added in the post, "This is the BIRTH of a NEW CINEMATIC ORDER and the ruthless extinction of everything that that ever existed http://before.in the previous WORLD of CINEMA (sic)."
The Rangeela and Satya director further praised Aditya Dhar, claiming that history is being written for him. "The very spelling of the word DIRECTOR will start from @adityadharfilms name, and it will be prudent and wise for even STEVEN SPIELBERG and CHRISTOPHER NOLAN to drop everything they are doing, and catch #Dhurandhar2 FIRST DAY FiRST SHOW (sic)," he concluded.
