Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar: The Revenge has been certified A by the Central Board of Film Certification after edits. The film is set to premiere on March 18 and will have a wider release on March 19 during the Eid weekend.
Ranveer Singh's much-anticipated film, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, received an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification a day ahead of its March 18 premiere. According to the list of cuts, visuals of about one minute and 34 seconds have been deleted, along with other modifications.
The censor board listed 21 suggestions that the Dhurandhar makers implemented. These modifications included the insertion of disclaimers for "disturbing content" and advised viewer discretion.
In the long list of cuts, the board has asked the makers to mute abusive words and reduce violent visuals, which includes beheading, kicking, hitting people with a hammer and cement blocks. The board has also asked the makers to replace certain words, unspecified in the certificate.
Among the suggestions, the makers were asked to correct the dates of demonetisation in subtitles. Director Aditya Dhar and team submitted an official permission letter to the board to allow the usage of Prime Minister references and other news footage in the film.
Apart from these, the Dhurandhar team was requested to add subtitles to visuals and songs in the film. The length of the end credits has been reduced by one minute as well.
The final runtime of Dhurandhar: The Revenge now stands at three hours and 49 minutes, 14 minutes longer than the first part.
