The Powerball jackpot continues to climb ahead of Saturday’s drawing on Feb. 21, now standing at an estimated $190 million, with a cash option of $88.5 million.
Since the lottery’s launch in 1992, the Powerball jackpot has been won nearly 200 times. Today, the game is played in 48 U.S. lotteries, with five states — Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah — not participating.
Among the participating lotteries, Indiana, Missouri, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin have produced the most Powerball jackpot winners.
