The communique outlined the highlights of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's interaction with Jean-Noël,the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, on the sidelines of the G7 foreign ministers' meeting in France's Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit France to attend the upcoming Group of 7 (G7) Summit, which is scheduled to be held from June 15 to 17 this year. The confirmation of the trip came via a press release issued by the French foreign ministry.
The communique outlined the highlights of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's interaction with Jean-Nol,the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, on the sidelines of the G7 foreign ministers' meeting in France's Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay.
The ministers welcomed the fact that Prime Minister Modi has confirmed his participation in the Evian Summit (15-17 June). While India is not a G7 member, it has been invited as a partner country by France, the current chair of the influential multilateral bloc.
Jaishankar's two-day visit for participation in the foreign ministers' meeting will conclude on Friday, March 27. Besides France, the G7 is made up of the US, the UK, Canada, Germany, Italy, and Japan and the top diplomats of all these nations are attending the meeting.
Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Brazil have also been invited by France to attend the event as partner countries. According to a French official cited by news agency PTI, there will be a session dedicated to the ongoing armed conflict in the Middle East.
The ministers will deliberate on exploring various dialogue channels that could lead to de-escalation in the region and reopen maritime routes, the official added.

The IRGC claimed it had "successfully targeted" the US aircraft, though it did not immediately provide details on the location, extent of damage or the fate of the pilot. There has been no immediate confirmation from the United States military, which has previously disputed similar claims by Iran during the conflict.

The win, which comes ahead of the critical midterms in November, also hands Democrats a seat that is home to President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate.
